FAQs

Can we see you play live before we book?
Absolutely. We do frequent showcases and have a residency in Glasgow in The Butterfly and The Pig South, in Shalwands. If you’d prefer a more private gig then you can come along to one of our rehearsals (full
disclosure – we often look quite scruffy at these!)

How far do you travel?
We normally play within a couple of hours driving distance of Glasgow, but we’re always up for an adventure!

How long do you play?
We usually play for four hours, between 8pm and midnight, with a 30 minute break for the buffet. We can provide a DJ set or play for longer if you’d like to keep partying into the wee hours.

How long is your set up?
We require 60 minutes to set up. We’re very sensitive to the fact that weddings don’t always run on time so we’ll make our set up as smooth and quick as possible.

Will the band setting up disrupt our meal?
Not at all. We always make sure that our set up is very efficient and happens with the minimum of fuss.

What happens once we book you guys?
We’ll send you a contract and ask you to pay a small deposit to secure the date of your wedding.

Do you have insurance?
Yes. As members of the Musicians Union, we have full Public Liability Insurance and all of our electrical equipment is PAT tested regularly.

Will you learn our first dance?
Definitely! First dances are very special and we dedicate a lot of time to making sure they’re perfect.

Can you play a ceilidh set?
We offer a 30 minute ceilidh set as an option for your wedding and will call out the dances so everyone knows their Gay Gordons from their Dashing White Sergeants!

Will there be music during the buffet?
We provide a DJ mix on iPod, but if you prefer you can put your own choice of music or playlist on through our PA system.

Can we pick the songs you play?
Our sets change all the time (we like to be able to react to the wishes of the crowd on the night) but are based on our wider repertoire. If there’s anything specific that you’d like to hear then please let us know and it’ll be included in the set. If you have requests that aren’t part of our repertoire, we’ll happily learn them for you.

What kind of shoes should I wear?
Dancing shoes!!!
